(Waterford, PA) – Dave Hess Jr., has been having one of those years so far…One where things seem to go his way even when it seems they shouldn’t.  Hess has also made an attempt to connect with his home community and with our greatest resource, our children.

He also took time away from the shop to speak to a group of Cub Scouts at Fairview Elementary School.  Hess tried to paint a picture of exactly what he does when he’s not racing and the kids were surprised at how much work goes into his race program.

“I noticed the kids really liked hearing from me,” pointed out Hess. “I know that some of the children go to the races with their parents, so hopefully they enjoyed my presentation.  Its giving back to the community that really counts for me and I look forward to many other speaking engagements at any location.”

Hess’ Racing career hasn’t suffered a bit due to his extra-curricular activities.  He hasn’t spent any time outside of the top 5 since beginning his 2010 North-East Campaign.  He’s pulled top 5’s at places like Lernerville Speedway (PA), Mercer Raceway Park (PA), and Wayne County Speedway (OH).  Hess collected his fist Late Model win at Lernerville Speedway on opening night and hopes to build on that win.

This past weekend was the team’s first full weekend as the team raced Lernerville in a great race where Hess ended up third after clawing tooth and nail and making it three-wide at the checkered. Hess started 12th.  Saturday came opening night at Stateline Speedway (NY) and Sunday Eriez Speedway where Mother Nature took over and cancelled the shows.
